Privacy Policy

Who we are

PinPosto is a location-based public conversation service operated by BeeServer Osauhing, Ranniku tee 20, Tallinn, Harjumaa 12112, Estonia (BeeServer, we, us, or our). This Privacy Policy applies to the PinPosto mobile application and the PinPosto website.

Information we collect

Account and profile information

PinPosto automatically creates an anonymous account so the app can provide its core features. We process an internal user identifier, the display name you choose, account and moderation status, last login time, app version and build information, device model, and operating-system version. We also store the most recently observed Internet Protocol (IP) address and the time it was updated for service security and abuse prevention. Each new value replaces the previous value; we do not maintain an IP-address history in the user profile. When device location is unavailable, we may also use the current IP address to estimate only the country and choose a useful initial map overview. Authorized administrators may see that same approximate country and country-level map overview alongside the latest IP address for service security and abuse investigation. We do not treat this estimate as precise device location or store it as location history. We do not require your legal name, email address, or phone number to create a standard PinPosto account.

Location information

With your permission, PinPosto processes approximate or precise device location to show nearby PinChats, display your position on the map, and choose a convenient initial position when creating a PinChat. We may store your most recently reported location and the locations attached to PinChats. You can browse the map, open or create PinChats, and read or send messages without granting location permission. We offer optional location access during guest entry and when you start creating a PinChat without existing access. You can decline or change location permission at any time in your device settings without losing the ability to create a PinChat.

Public content and communications

We process the PinChat titles, message text, optional message photos, display names, and PinChat locations that users submit. PinChats, messages, and attached photos are public and are intended to be visible to other users. Do not submit private or sensitive information that you do not want others to see. We also process reports, report reasons, the reported PinChat or message identifiers, feedback, and communications you send to us. Individual-message reports are visible to authorized moderators and do not publicly mark the entire PinChat as reported.

When you choose to attach a photo, the app accesses the camera or the photo you select from your device library. Before upload, the app resizes and compresses the photo and removes embedded metadata such as camera and GPS metadata. The resulting photo and basic technical details such as dimensions, file size, and media type are stored with the message. PinPosto does not access other photos in your library.

Technical, analytics, and diagnostic information

We process app interactions, screen views, crash reports, diagnostics, performance measurements, network-request performance, device or installation identifiers, and notification tokens where applicable. The PinPosto website also uses Google Analytics to process information about visits, such as pages viewed and technical browser or device information.

Advertising information

The PinPosto mobile application uses Google Mobile Ads to display advertising. Depending on your location and privacy choices, Google and its advertising partners may process device information, app interactions, approximate location inferred from your Internet Protocol address, advertising or installation identifiers, and ad impressions and interactions to select, deliver, measure, and protect advertising. PinPosto does not share PinChat titles, message text, message photos, or precise device location with Google Mobile Ads for advertising.

Where required, the app asks for your advertising privacy choices before requesting an ad. You can reopen the available advertising privacy controls from Account & privacy in the app. PinPosto does not request permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites on iOS.

How we use information

We use information to:

• provide maps and nearby public conversations;
• create and operate anonymous accounts and user profiles;
• publish, deliver, and manage PinChats, messages, and photos;
• support location-aware maps and initial PinChat placement;
• receive feedback and investigate reports or abuse;
• send essential service and moderation notifications;
• maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms;
• diagnose crashes and improve reliability and performance;
• understand aggregate use of the app and website; and
• display, measure, and protect advertising in the mobile app.

We do not sell personal information and do not use PinChat or message content for advertising.

Legal bases for processing

Where European data-protection law applies, we process information as necessary to provide the service you request, with your consent where required (including device permissions), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, moderating, and improving PinPosto. You may withdraw consent through your device settings or by contacting us, without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.

How information is disclosed

Public PinChat content, display names, messages, attached photos, and associated PinChat locations are disclosed to other PinPosto users as part of the service. We also disclose information to service providers that process it for us, including Google Maps Platform, Google Mobile Ads, and Google Firebase services for maps, advertising, authentication, cloud storage, cloud functions, notifications, remote configuration, analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. These providers are required to protect information under applicable agreements and law.

Country-level IP geolocation uses the DB-IP Country Lite database stored in our server environment. PinPosto does not send a runtime lookup request or your IP address to DB-IP. Data attribution: IP geolocation by DB-IP. Country reference data is provided by world-countries.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, to investigate abuse, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. Information may be processed outside your country; where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.

Retention and deletion

PinChats have limited active lifetimes, but expiry only removes them from the active experience and does not necessarily immediately erase every stored record. Attached photos generally follow the retention and moderation status of their messages. We retain account and profile information while an account is active; PinChats, messages, photos, reports, feedback, and moderation records for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service; and advertising, analytics, diagnostic, and performance data according to the retention settings of the relevant service. We may retain limited information for longer when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

When an author or administrator soft-deletes a message, other users see a deleted-message placeholder. The original message text, attached photo, deletion time, and moderation information may remain available to authorized administrators for moderation, abuse prevention, audit, restoration, or dispute resolution. An administrator may permanently delete an entire PinChat, including its messages, photos, related reports, and restoration backups, subject to any limited retention required by law.

You may request deletion from Account & privacy in the PinPosto app. The account and its public content are hidden immediately. You then have 30 days to restore the account from the app. If you do not restore it, we permanently delete the authentication account and delete or anonymize associated profile information, location information, the latest stored IP address, notification tokens, owned PinChats, authored messages, attached photos, and other public user-generated content. We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Your privacy choices and rights

You can control location, camera, photo-library, and notification permissions in your device settings. When required, you can manage advertising choices from Account & privacy in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, receive a portable copy, or withdraw consent. Contact apps@beeserver.ee to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate or your local data-protection authority.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, and service security rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

PinPosto is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as PinPosto or applicable law changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the Last updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
